  • At Easter, Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and our clergy are overjoyed to welcome back people who have not been attending in-person Masses.  Please be advised that due to COVID health and safety measures, masks must be worn on parish property at all times.  Social distancing of six feet must be maintained by everyone except those who live in the same household.  Please know that every effort is being made to welcome everyone to worship together during this sacred week respectful of the necessary components of social distancing, masks and sanitation.

In order to accommodate as many people as possible, overflow seating is available at all three churches, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Joseph, and St. Catherine of Siena.

A year ago, the bishops of the dioceses of Pennsylvania lifted the obligation to attend Mass.  That provision continues until further notice.  If you are not feeling well, are in at-risk group, or are fearful about going out, please take advantage of the opportunity to watch our livestream Mass on Facebook or YouTube.

  •            COVID Policy

Due to the increase in COVID cases, we are implementing a temporary rectory office policy (for the rectories in our Grouping - St.  Catherine  of Siena in Crescent, St. Joseph in Coraopolis  and St. Margaret Mary in Moon Township) as a precautionary measure.  Items may be dropped off or picked up at the rectory by prior arrangement.  Thank you.

  •            BISHOP ZUBIK                         ANNOUNCEMENT

With an abundance of joy and gratitude we have been able to open many churches in the Diocese of Pittsburgh for prayer, Masses, and other Sacramental services.  As you can imagine, it is a massive, ongoing effort to allow people to gather while doing everything in our power to protect everyone’s health.
We need to work together, and act with each other’s health and safety in mind if we are to continue keeping our churches open for worship.
As a reminder, Bishop David Zubik has suspended the obligation to attend Mass until further notice.  If you are in a vulnerable population and/or have an underlying health condition, please approach the celebration of Holy Mass with charity and love for our clergy and faith community by following all safety protocols including:

*Staying home if you’re not feeling well.
*Mandatory mask-wearing in Mass. If you have a      medical exemption from the governor’s order,          please provide that to your parish so that it may      be recorded and honored by those who are              working to maintain a safe space for all.
*Sanitizing your hands upon entry to the Church.
*Sitting in designated pews and respecting social      distancing of six feet or more unless you are one      family unit.
*Refraining from congregating before or after            Mass.
*Following protocols to receive Holy Communion      as directed at Mass.

What To Expect As We Gather for Mass

    • For the weekend Mass, what to expect?
*must go into church by the designated entrance.
    • Important Diocesan Guidelines?
*must wear a mask and respect social distancing.
    • Guidelines for church capacity?
*25% of church capacity while respecting social distancing.
*Our Grouping will only have one Saturday Mass and one Sunday Mass at each Parish (St. Catherine, St. Joseph, St. Margaret Mary). Why? Temporarily dropping one Sunday Mass at each location due to Diocesan guidelines for sanitizing the churches after each Mass.
    • If the Church reaches capacity, what happens?
*Parishioners will be asked to go to the church hall for additional seating and the availability of seeing the Mass live stream. If the hall fills to capacity, we will have no more available seating and must not go beyond Diocesan guidelines. If there are additional people outside, they cannot be admitted due to Diocesan guidelines.
